Products to help beat the Monsoon Humidity

Find out how to manage your hair during our hot and humid monsoon season from pros at Mane Attraction Salon.

Living in the desert we don’t deal with the effects of humidity on our hair very often. However, when monsoon season hits, we definitely start to feel the moisture creep in and this can make your normal hair styling routine seem like it’s not working. Here are a few product and styling suggestions to help you combat those extra humid days.

First, we always suggest working with your hair and not against. We know easier said than done sometimes! However, if you have natural texture, you may find your texture is more beautiful when there is a little humidity in the air. To help combat extra frizz add a product that fights humidity, like Aveda’s Smooth Infusion Style Prep Smoother, into your routine. This lightweight leave-in treatment serum is a pre-styler so it can be easily added to your styling routine. This protect will provide protection from heat styling and the drying effects of the sun, while providing plant-powered frizz defense for up to 72 hours.

If you really want that sleek blown out look follow with Aveda’s Smooth Infusion Perfect Blow Dry. Otherwise, style as usual. Second, don’t be afraid to wear your hair up and off your face. When the heat and humidity of the summer hit sometimes it is just easier to pull your hair back and call it a day but, you don’t have to sacrifice a polished look when doing so. May we suggest using statement hair ties, clips and headbands. Our favorite hair ties and claw clips are from Teleties and you can find them in our MAS Shop. They come in different sizes and colors for all hair types.

Third, if you find yourself really struggling with styling your hair at home you can try a professional smoothing treatment like Brazilian Blowout to tame your tresses and cut styling time at home. The Brazilian Blowout treatment is a liquid keratin formula that bonds to each hair strand to reduce frizz, speed styling time, protect against damage and add shine. The treatment must be done in salon and lasts up to 12 weeks.

Ask your MAS stylists if this service is right for you or stop in our MAS Shop to grab our favorite humidity fighting products. We hope these tips help you style your hair through monsoon season. Luckily it doesn’t last long and we will be back to beautiful hair weather soon!
